Summary ReviewOne of the 10 national education laboratories funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning was established in 1966 with the mission of improving education for all through applied research, product development, and service. McREL provides products and services, primarily for K-12 educators, to promote the best instructional practices in the classroom, and focuses its federally funded services to a seven-state region: Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. McREL specializes in field-based research and product development, workshops and training, technical assistance and consulting, evaluation and policy studies, information resources, and community education and public outreach. |
