Helpful Hints for Navigation

ENC can be overwhelming to navigate at first because its resources are massive and extensive. A helpful hint for finding what you’re looking for is to link directly to the ENC website map at http://www.enc.org/sitemap/ rather than starting at the website’s homepage. From the site map, you can easily overview all content on the website and click to the sub-category you are seeking. For those with a little more time, the site also offers a "guided tour" of the site at http://www.enc.org/tour/. If all else fails, you can always link to the "Help section" of the website at http://www.enc.org/help/. I would avoid the "Site Search" (http://www.enc.org/sitesearch/) because it is a broad word search and therefore provides too many search results.

To ease use, the top and bottom of each page of the website has a blue border that provides two helpful pieces of information:

1) On the left side of the blue border is an outline of the specific path you have been following through the website, which enables you to backtrack, minimizing the possibility of getting lost in this massive website (ENC calls this process leaving "bread crumbs" behind while surfing through the site);

2) On the right side of the blue border, you can click to get the "text version" (to see each web page without the graphics) or a "printer-friendly version" of each web page.
